3 Parts Of Paradise You Need To Explore The Next Time You’re In Bali
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The stunning Indonesian island of Bali has become one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations for all the right reasons. There’s something for everyone here, from the 5-star resorts and chic beach bars in Seminyak through to the untouched village life and world-class diving in Amed.

In fact, there’s so much to see and do in Bali, it’s not uncommon to be paralyzed by the sheer amount of choice on offer.

With that in mind, here are our top 3 recommendations for things you don’t want to miss the next time you land in paradise.

Get Spiritual In Ubud

Ubud has exploded in popularity in recent years. Just a decade ago this was a reasonably unknown village that only the most dedicated yogis and yoginis from around the world would end up visiting – but today, that’s all changed.

Ever since the main character in the ultra-popular book “Eat. Pray. Love.” went to Ubud and had a life-changing experience it has become a mecca for anyone into yoga, spirituality, and eco-friendly living.

You can wake up and head down to Ubud’s most famous yoga studio (The Yoga Barn) for a sunrise salutation session before heading over to one of the village’s numerous affordable healthy restaurants for a spot of brunch.

You can spend your afternoons wandering around seemingly endless idyllic luscious green rice paddies which are subtly accented throughout with traditional Balinese architecture. Your evenings can be spent listening to talented local artists in one of Ubud’s many chic and chilled live music venues until you’re ready to hit the hay and do it all over again tomorrow.

Go Diving In Amed

Despite Bali being one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, much of the island remains relatively untouched. The southern areas of Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu are built up due to their proximity to the airport, but most visitors rarely venture farther into the island than this.

If you get yourself a transfer to the north of Bali, you can escape the noise and the crowds completely. The unspoiled beaches and tranquil nature of village life in Amed is such a stark contrast to the energy in the south that you’d easily believe that you were on a completely different island.

Amed is quiet, but it’s no secret – it’s famous for having some of the best and most accessible dive sites in the entire region. The locals have fiercely defended the several reefs that make the aquatic life here so vibrant and varied, and as such – they’re in pristine condition.

Surf’s Up In Canggu

Canggu is well known for being a world class surfing destination and countless people visit the area each year. But be warned, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this isn’t the place for you.

The large number of surf spots throughout Canggu are all easily accessible and cater to surfers of all skill levels – from first timers to world champions.

As you’d expect, there are plenty of highly affordable surf schools here, all of which are usually staffed by extremely friendly and professional Balinese instructors. They’ll be able to take you out for private lessons at the perfect spot for your skill level in complete safety.

If you’re a land lover and don’t fancy getting your feet wet, then Canggu is still well worth a visit. The area is widely regarded as having some of the best food on the entire island with a wide range of cuisine (international and local) on offer.

Better yet, many of the most popular restaurants in Canggu usually provide you with a front row seat to watch the surfing action unfold. Watching some of the best professional surfers in the world tackle challenging waves (while sipping down a cocktail and eating great food) is just as fun as being in the water yourself.

Got The Travel Bug Yet?

Bali is a stunning island full of rich culture and natural beauty. We strongly recommend you consider exploring as much of it as possible by escaping the resort life in the south and venturing further afield.

If you do, we reckon you’ll understand why Bali has earned the nickname “The Island Of The Gods” pretty quickly…
